Serving You

As a lifelong resident of the Coastal Bend, I am a tireless advocate for the people of South Texas. Below I would like to remind you of the several resources you have access to through my district offices in Corpus Christi and Brownsville.
Red Tape Cutters

My staff of red tape cutters is ready to assist you with any problems you might have with the federal government or federal agencies. I understand how challenging it can be to deal with the federal bureaucracy. My district offices are available to help with issues you have with Social Security benefits, veteran’s benefits, immigration, the Internal Revenue Service or any other federal agency. If you have an issue with a federal agency, please contact either the Corpus Christi Office at (361) 884-2222 or the Brownsville Office at (956) 544-8800.
Service Academy Nominations
Each year I have the distinct pleasure of nominating outstanding young men and women from South Texas to the four United States’ military service academies. Applicants are carefully evaluated based on numerous qualifications that include: character, scholarship, leadership, physical fitness, medical fitness and motivation. Interested students should contact my office in Corpus Christi in the spring of their junior year in high school to begin the application process.

If you are interested in applying for a nomination for the entering class of 2013, you may download a copy of the current application here. You may also contact the Corpus Christi Office to have a copy mailed to you. Please send your application to:

Congressman Blake Farenthold
Attn: Chris Duke
101 N. Shoreline Blvd.
Suite 300
Corpus Christi, TX 78401
In order for your application to be considered, all materials for the entering class of 2013 must be postmarked by October 26, 2012. For questions or more information, please contact Chris Duke in my Corpus Christi office at (361) 884-2222.

Tours of Washington, DC
Are you planning a visit to Washington, DC? Whether you’re coming on a short trip, or an extended family vacation, my office can help make arrangements for some of the more popular attractions in our Nation’s Capital such as the White House, the U.S. Capitol and the Library of Congress.

We need quite a bit of advanced notice for White House tours because participants must undergo a background check, and not all White House tours are approved. All other tour tickets are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to the large number of visitors each year, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances.

To Submit a Request for a Tour:
  1. Fill out the Tour Request Form.
  2. Email the completed form to
Please note my office can only receive tour requests through email, if you have any questions about touring Washington DC, please call Jason Capeheart at (202) 225-7742.

Flag Requests
Another service I offer is the opportunity to have a U.S. flag flown over the Capitol.  To have a flag flown, please visit Farenthold.House.Gov or fill out the form here and mail it to either the Corpus Christi or Brownsville Office. My office will notify you when the flag is ready to be picked up. In most cases there is a fee to have a flag flown, which is indicated on the flag form.

Washington, DC, Corpus Christi and Brownsville Internships
My office is always accepting applications from college level students interested in gaining work experience in either the Washington DC, Corpus Christi or Brownsville Offices.  In my DC office, interns will have the opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the federal government by assisting the legislative and communication staff members. If you are interested in serving as an intern in the Office of Congressman Blake Farenthold, please fill out and return the internship application with a resume. For an internship in Washington, DC, send your application to Jason Capeheart at

Interns in the Corpus Christi and Brownsville Offices have the opportunity to gain firsthand experience providing constituent services and interacting with the community through a Congressional office. For an internship in Brownsville or Corpus Christi, send your application to Wendy Herman at

For more detailed information and other resources provided by my office, please visit Farenthold.House.Gov. As always, I look forward to assisting you and your family in any way I can.
