Congressman Farenthold Introduces FACE Act
Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) introduced the Federal Agency Customer Experience Act (FACE Act) Thursday, which would make it easier for agencies to collect voluntary feedback on their performance.
The bill, H.R. 2846, would amend the Paperwork Reduction Act to streamline the process for which agencies are able to receive feedback. Currently, it takes between six and nine months for an agency to collect feedback from the public because of an extensive approval process.
“This legislation will help the federal government provide better customer service,” said Congressman Farenthold. “Right now, taxpayers aren’t receiving the best service when dealing with federal agencies. This bill helps government agencies improve service by letting the public provide voluntary feedback on an agency’s performance.”
Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) recently introduced similar legislation in the Senate.
