Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) released the following statement today after President Trump signed an executive order scrapping the EPA’s Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule, which gave the EPA authority far above the agency’s statutory authority.

“The EPA’s WOTUS rule was so overreaching, it regulated areas never intended by the Clean Water Act, like irrigation ditches and stock tanks,” Congressman Farenthold said. “Numerous courts have found problems with WOTUS and I’m happy to see President Trump is doing something about it.”
