Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) released the following statement after language he authored was included in the final draft of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act. His language includes approval of feasibility studies for the navigation project at the Port of Bay City, and the hurricane and storm damage reduction navigation project for the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in Matagorda and Brazoria Counties. Passage of the bill by both the House and Senate is expected later this week.

“I’m glad to see my language included in the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act,” said Congressman Farenthold. “Critical infrastructure projects that support our nation’s ports are taking too long to get done. With reforms in this bill, and a new focus on infrastructure nationwide, I look forward to seeing a positive impact on the entire gulf coast and across America.”
