Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-TX-27) released the following statement today, giving his condolences to the victim in the shooting at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas. The base was put on lockdown Friday morning after reports of an active shooter where two people died in an apparent murder-suicide.

“Debbie and I are deeply saddened by this tragedy and offer our prayers to those involved in the shooting today at Lackland Air Force Base,” Congressman Farenthold said. “While the preliminary investigation is underway, this is reminder of the national conversation we need to have on mental health in our country. Let’s remember how much our service members give and sacrifice even here at home.”
