CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Today, Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) announced that he will host a Congressional Art Competition Award Reception at his Corpus Christi District Office this Saturday, May 12^th from 10:00-11:00am. All are invited to attend.

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by members of Congress as an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent in each Congressional district. The over-all winner for South Texas’ District 27, to be announced at the reception on Saturday, will have his or her art on display for one year in the U.S. Capitol. Over 650,000 high school students have participated in this this competition since its inception in 1982.
