The Preisdent's Energy Policies Have Failed - When President Obama was inaugurated, a gallon of gas cost $1.89. As of May 18, 2012, a gallon of gas was $3.71. The U.S. imports 759,000 barrels of oil a day from Venezuela. The Keystone Pipeline would bring 700,000-830,000 barrels of oil a day to U.S. refineries. Yet, the president continues to reject projects like the Keystone XL Pipeline which would increase domestic energy production. Instead of taking advantage of available energy solutions he continues to support failed taxpayer funded ventures like Solyndra.
House Republicans' "America Energy Initiative - Increasing access to American energy sources will create private sector jobs, grow our economy, and reduce our nation's dependence on energy from hostile foreign countries. I support an all-of-the-above approach to energy development, incorporating wind, solar, hydropower, nuclear, geothermal and biomass with our clean coal and American and Texas-made oil and natural gas.
